Fiji Gas is making it easier for their customers to get in contact. The company is introducing a new short code number for customers: 3454. As anyone, who has ever sent a text message knows, those are the digits that spell F I J I on mobile phones.
Mr. Peter Lee, Chief Executive Officer at Fiji Gas said “Our customers are at the core of everything we do at Fiji Gas. It is important for them to be able to reach us at any time. We discussed what would be the easiest number for our customers to remember and dialing F I J I is as easy as it gets.”
“The actual numbers are 3454 but everyone is used to text messaging and spelling out words using their telephone keypad; 3454 spells F I J I.”
“By dialling FIJI our customers will be able to reach all our services from placing orders, home deliveries, payments (accounts), access to marketing, sales and any of our terminals in Viti Levu.
Fiji Gas is one of the first companies to have the same short code number across all three mobile phone networks. Both The IT and the marketing departments worked closely with all three mobile phone companies in Fiji to bring about this innovation.
Fiji Gas has been trialling the short code number for 4 weeks. “The feedback from customers has been positive.” said Cornelia Smith, CRM & Marketing Officer at Fiji Gas “They like to be able to contact all our services with one easy to remember number. Every department in the company is benefitting from the increased customer touch. Across the board we are getting more feedback from our customers which in turn is driving sales and making us all more responsive.”
“We all feel we have to perform to the highest level now we are asking our customers to dial F I J I to contact Fiji Gas.”
