The Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association today boldly announced the 2021 Coca-Cola Games’ Powerade National Torch relay, signaling the return of one of the world’s biggest schools annual athletics competition.
The relay was launched on the 9th of April 2021 at the Coca-Cola Amatil Fiji Ltd headquarters at Laucala Beach in Suva.
Yet another unique opportunity allowing Fiji Gas as an Associate Sponsor for the Coca Cola Games 2021.
Official partners of the Coke games, Fiji Water, Pacific Energy and Digicel were amongst those attending the Official Lighting ceremony.
FSSAA president Marika Uluinaceva said the launching of the relay signified the return of the games which was cancelled by the COVID-19 pandemic last year and cast out doubts of another cancellation after the recent natural disasters.
“Tell everybody we are back,” Uluinaceva said.
”Despite all the calamities we faced, we say we are back because you have been with us to allow our youths to wade through the floods and withstand the rain, floods and cyclones.”
The Fiji Gas Torch and cauldron will be carried from the Coca Cola Head Office to the ANZ Stadium by the 2021 Coke Games reigning champions Ratu Kadavulevu School and Adi Cakobau School on Thursday 22nd April where the official opening of the Games will be held.
